It was my pleasure meeting with Biswapati Sarkar & Sameer Saxena, ex-members of TVF The Viral Fever, now part of Posham Pa Pictures, the makers of Jadugar (2022) movie and web series like Kota Factory Panchayat Gullak Ye Meri Family etc.

Special Thanks to Hitesh Trivedi and Umesh Gaur for taking me along.

In the era of binge watching, I am not even a fresher in the OTT world. And, here I was meeting one of the best teams on OTT having delivered many high-quality web-series under their belt. So, when I reached Starbucks Coffee where they were already present, I could not even recognize as who is who, and even their introduction did not help me much. Slowly I came to know they are famous, as passers-by keep coming to click pictures with them. Sameer Saxena & Biswapati Sarkar, I must say sorry for being so ignorant about your achievements.

I was listening to amazing success stories of other people including Sudhakar Gorti and here I was founder of many start-ups without much success in getting these start-ups to next level. I did not even have much to talk about revenue, margins, turnover, acquisitions.. wow, that moment itself was full of pride.

The story of my life journey finally took off. The story of a middle-class boy who grew up with a single dream to either become IAS officer or join army and help people, because as a child, I knew that only IAS can help people. However, I ended up being in IT field. And then a small incidence gave me belief that I can still do what I wanted to. It gave birth to “Sanskriti” and later launched www.ARTSofINDIA.in when Sourav Kumar trusted my vision and joined me.

Everything that my eyes had seen during those past 20 years of working with various artisans, clusters and NGOs were running in my mind like a movie. It was not possible to narrate those minute details of struggle of artisans and working with them, the smiles of an under-privileged on getting an unexpected help. or the peace and happiness that I have been getting throughout as a result of their blessings. Don’t know, if I will even be able to sit down and write complete story in some form, but I was very grateful to the team, who allowed me an hour to weave my feelings into words and to share my happiness and pain with them. Appreciations for my work towards Indian traditional Arts & Crafts and community services gave me belief that I should and will be able to do more.

My initiatives ARTSofINDIA.in and my association with various NGOs and community services over the past 25 years may not inspire anyone around me, but it is quite satisfying to see that few more are now aware about the struggle and pain of those rural artisans, who have been carrying India’s tradition forward for centuries. I am sure, we, the people of India will keep reviving and rewriting our tradition, art and culture for the future generations to follow and be proud of.
